Training Officer

Location/Division: Trustmarque House

As a sales organisation that is continually looking to improve our performance and processes, we are looking for a Trainer/Training Officer to enable us to bring our sales and skills training in house. The key priority for this trainer will be the design and delivery of sales training, building on solution sales training that has previously been delivered. In addition to formal classroom training, the trainer will also work with individuals to coach and improve performance on a daily basis. We are ideally looking for a trainer who is adaptable, and also able to deliver training in other areas – for example, soft skills such as time management, assertion at work and customer service, and potentially system and product training too. A background in the IT reseller/channel industry is helpful, but not essential.

If you have previously worked within sales, and have moved on to successfully deliver sales training and coaching, with demonstrable impact on organisational performance, you are likely to be a strong candidate for the role. We are a fast-paced organisation, and so the ability to take on information quickly, and organise it into a trainable format, will be essential. We have some existing training resource in-house, meaning that you will have support as required in learning internal systems & processes.

You will need to be a good networker, as you will need to build credibility and strong working relationships throughout the organisation, and particularly within the Sales teams. A recognised training qualification such as CTP, TAP or ITOL would be an advantage; demonstrable professional experience of training design, delivery and evaluation is essential. We are in the process of working towards Investors in People, and the planning and evaluation of training forms a key part of our strategy for achieving this – experience of training within an IIP context will be very helpful in this role, although is not essential.

This is a part-time role, working approximately 22.5 hours per week – we anticipate this being 3 full days, but can be flexible. The salary for the role is in the range £25,000 - £35,000 FTE, which would be pro-rated accordingly. You will be based at our office at Monk's Cross, York, with occasional travel to our London and Edinburgh offices.

Trustmarque Solutions is an equal opportunity employer and applications from persons of any colour, race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status or disability are welcomed.
