Due to the merger of two leading home shopping companies the business found themselves supporting two legacy environments.  These two infrastructures were essentially operating independently of each other and causing the business considerable difficulty when attempting to merge the two infrastructures together to form one cohesive environment.   An optimisation programme was undertaken to deliver a common desktop and messaging environment throughout the combined estate thus assisting in forging a new identity.
